“Would you take a contractor’s phone number off of a telephone pole? I did. I admit, even I thought I was nuts, but something about Bert Gleicher’s neat printing made me sense that this unconventional “referral” would prove to be one of intuition correctly trumping logic. He came over with an extensive portfolio and with a good feeling, we hired him to build our backyard deck. Soon after, our landscaper contacted a photographer from Better Homes and Gardens to feature the Deck that Bert Built. The year was 1983.
In 1994, an earthquake caused extensive damage to our home. We called Bert who worked with our insurance company to secure a handsome settlement, including the replacement of our chimney that our adjuster had thought was stable until Bert climbed a ladder and moved the chimney back and forth with one hand.
Gleicher Associates has remodeled all of our bathrooms over the years, and it was fascinating to watch the plumbers, electricians and installers work seamlessly and quickly with each other via cell phones so that all were on site as soon as one finished.
Running this show is the lead coordinator, James, a funny and engaging guy who called me each day to let me know who was coming the next morning and at what time. I would look out the window fifteen minutes before their scheduled arrival to find them sitting patiently in their truck, not wanting to disturb me until the agreed-upon time. Without exception, everyone was friendly, polite and extremely neat. I cannot overemphasize how prompt and meticulous they were.
Here is the ultimate praise for Gleicher Associates: Besides their work being precise and beautiful, I missed them when the projects were completed.”
